Lars MikkelsenAt 27 years old He enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. Apart from his role in the drama series aired worldwide as The Killing, he subsequently appeared in two other internationally acclaimed Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He was also a key role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. He played the role of the Russian president in the American television series House of Cards. In 2018, he won an International Emmy Award for his part as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was broadcast in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish, German as well as Danish in addition to his native language. He also has learned different accents.
